Pee Wee (Steve West) and I will be leaving this coming Saturday on our eighth journey with no set plan or destination. We plan to be gone for 8 or 9 days and spend most of our time on state roads, back roads, small towns, and cheap hotels. Pee Wee took a year off last summer, but is eager to get going on trip #8.
We do know a little about our direction this year. We've kind of run out of zones to explore, but the southern tip of the country is one we haven't investigated, so we kind of expect to go in that direction. So we expect to be hot. And dry. Kind of like Georgia.
While we wander around getting an American education, we will again have the goal of three good deeds per day. And we hope to use those good deeds to raise money for a worthy cause - the Lawrenceville Co-Op. The Co-Op helps feed hungry and homeless people and helps out with utilities, but promotes self reliance at the same time. Anyone who wants to help out can pledge any amount of money they want per good deed, and then make a contribution at the end of our trip by clicking on the Lawrenceville Co-Op button on the right.
I'll do my best to update the blog every night for family and friends, and for the new friends we make every day as we travel. Feel free to post comments - we like comments. Last year Mike Bowbliss won the grand prize by commenting the most.
